Purple pride on full display at Western’s March Break Open House

Western University is hosting its annual March Break Open House this weekend, providing future students, their families and friends, an opportunity to meet with award-winning faculty, staff and students and learn why Western offers the best student experience among Canadian universities.

On Saturday, March 12 visitors to Western’s March Break Open House can attend various academic information sessions, mini lectures, lab demonstrations, displays, student panels, faculty tours and visit the drop-in centre in the University Community Centre.

Visitors can also speak with current students, faculty and staff representatives; take campus bus and walking tours; and tour select residences throughout the day. Special presentations will be held throughout the day including: Indigenous Services, Student Financial Services, Housing and Scholar’s Programs.

“If a student is planning to move away from home to attend school, visiting the campus will be an important part of their research. In addition to academic programs, it’s important for students to know what kind of supports the university offers to ensure success in the transition from high school to university,” says Lori Gribbon, Western’s Associate Registrar and Director of Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions. “Students should gather information on life outside of the classroom, clubs and co-curricular activities, global experiences, exchanges and study-abroad opportunities. Touring Western at March Break Open House allows students to really get a feel for what learning and living on campus, and in London, might be like.”

More than 5,000 people will attend the open house on Saturday. While most are from Ontario, students and family members have registered from other Canadian provinces, several American states and other international locations.
