Dean’s Distinguished Lecture with Dr. Margaret Chan – Saturday, October 21, 2017

A Western alumna who has served on the frontlines of the global fight against H1N1, SARS and avian influenza will join the Western University’s Homecoming celebrations this weekend.

Dr. Margaret Chan, former Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), will provide the 2017 Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Saturday, October 21, 2017 for Western’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

Pseudoscience Expert Panel Discussion – Saturday, October 21, 2017

Dr. Jennifer Gunter, an obstetrician-gynecologist and a graduate of the residency training program at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry grabbed national attention this past year for her pointed and passionate criticism of pseudoscientific claims about health and is on a mission to be a voice for science and evidence-based medicine online.

She will join a panel of experts moderated by Schulich Medicine & Dentistry Dean Dr. Michael J. Strong to discuss pseudoscience’s effect on human health. The panel will touch on topics from vaccine-compliance to nutritional supplements.
