Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry will host the 8th annual Sharing Smiles Day on March 5, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Great Hall, Somerville House, Western University.

Sharing Smiles Day aims to remove barriers and improve access to oral health care for persons with special needs and emphasizes the importance of oral health.

The event brings together more than 100 volunteers, including students, faculty, dentists and hygienists from the community with close to 250 participants with special needs from the London community. The day includes expo-style games with a dental theme, oral hygiene instruction and demonstrations, and presentations.

10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. Dental EXPO games

11:30 a.m. Group photo

11:45 a.m. Speakers: Dr. Jack McLister, President of the Ontario Dental Association; Dr. Tom Mara, Chair, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Schulich Dentistry

12:15 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Oral hygiene instruction from dentists, dental hygienists, and dental students
