Declan Hill, an investigative journalist with extensive expertise in the area of globalized sports corruption, will deliver a public talk at Western University’s Faculty of Law on Wednesday, September 25 at 12:30 p.m.

Hill will deliver the lecture, “The Coming Destruction of Sports: How the Asian Gambling Market will Kill Canadian Sports,” as part of Western Law’s Distinguished Speaker series.

Media are invited to the public event, which will be held in the Faculty of Law’s Moot Court Room in the Josephine Spencer Niblett Building.

Hill, who specializes in the study of organized crime and international issues, famously broke the story of match-fixing gangs destroying international football (soccer) in his book, “The Fix: Soccer & Organized Crime.” It has since become a best-seller in 20 languages.

His next book, “The Insider’s Guide to Football Corruption,” is an adaptation of his doctoral thesis from the University of Oxford. It will be released in October 2013.
