The Business Cares Food Drive team will officially launch the 2013 campaign on Friday, November 29, 2013 at a news conference, set to begin at 10 a.m. The event will be held at Western University’s London Hall in conjunction with the Western Cares Food Drive.
Heading into its 14th campaign, Business Cares is hoping to eclipse the 259,870 pounds of food it raised last year for the London Food Bank. The three-week campaign has been able to increase its donations each year.
“More than 3,600 families a month are accessing the London Food Bank Food, which is up 4.4 % from last year,” said Business Cares Campaign Chair Wayne Dunn. “We know the generosity of members of the London community will help meet the needs of the food bank and the families it serves throughout the holiday season and beyond.”
More than 400 London-based companies and organizations of all sizes participated in 2012, joining together with their employees to contribute donations of food, cash, skids of essentials for those in need as well as their time.
The launch event for this year’s initiative will share exciting news about special activities during the campaign, as well as new partnerships and collaborations.
