Gathered together from the farthest reaches of the Forest City, the biggest collection of mascots ever assembled in London is coming to Western University to officially launch the Business Cares Food Drive 2014 campaign.

The kickoff event, in conjunction with the launch of the annual Western Cares Food drive, will be held at Western’s London Hall on Friday, November 28 at 10 a.m.

Heading into its 15th campaign, Business Cares is hoping to surpass last year’s total of 281,000 pounds of food by at least one pound. The three-week campaign has been able to increase its donations to the London and Area Food Bank each year.

“More than 3,870 families a month are accessing the London Food Bank Food and 42 per cent of the clients are children,” says Business Cares Campaign Chair Wayne Dunn. “We know the generosity of members of the London community will help meet the needs of the food bank and the families it serves throughout the holiday season and beyond.”

More than 400 London-based companies and organizations, importantly of all sizes, participated in 2013, joining together with their employees to contribute donations of food, money, other essentials and their time for those in need.

The launch event for this year’s initiative will share exciting news about special activities planned for the 2014 campaign, as well as new partnerships and collaborations.
