Western Shows Its Local Love with Contribution to United Way

Western University today announced a contribution of $619,475 from its 2019 campaign in support of United Way Elgin Middlesex. Western’s contribution came from faculty, staff, students and retirees and will enable approximately 7350 individuals from our region to access United Way services in the coming year.

“Western campus members contribute to the well-being of the local community in countless ways every day through their work, service, teaching and research,” says Western’s president, Alan Shepard. “Supporting United Way’s annual campaign is a longstanding tradition we’re proud to continue.”

Western continues to be the largest United Way “employee/retiree giving” campaign in Elgin Middlesex.

“Western University is a long-time partner with United Way and with this year’s campaign contribution they have once again demonstrated their local love to our community,” says Kelly Ziegner, CEO, United Way Elgin Middlesex.
