Western University’s popular complimentary lecture series, Classes Without Quizzes, returns on November 20 as Jonathan De Souza from Western’s Don Wright Faculty of Music provides insight into our innate ability to understand music.

Even without musical training, most people can notice wrong notes, tap their feet to a beat, recognize songs from childhood, and understand emotions conveyed in music. Professor De Souza will discuss how we acquire these skills and what might they reveal about the mind.
