With pro-democracy protests bringing Hong Kong’s financial district to a standstill and confrontations with police escalating, an expert in Asian politics, protests and social movements from Western University’s Faculty of Social Science is available to media for commentary.

Dan Bousfield, an Assistant Professor in Western’s Department of Political Science, has also researched, published and spoken with media about issues related to the Occupy Movement, and currently teaches courses in East Asian Politics, and Interest Groups & Social Movements.

Bousfield can provide expert commentary and context around current events in Hong Kong’s Occupy Central movement, how it came about and what it could mean for the future of Hong Kong and China.

Commentary reflects the perspective and scholarly interest of Western faculty members and is not an articulation of official university policy on issues being addressed.
