With Ontario public elementary school teachers preparing for province-wide job action on Monday, and continued opposition among some groups of Ontarians to the Province’s new sex-ed curriculum, an expert in the area of Ontario’s public education system from Western University is available to media for commentary.
The former director of the Thames Valley District School Board, Bill Tucker is an associate professor at Western’s Faculty of Education, where he teaches in the Doctor of Education program.
“We are currently in the midst of a very interesting time in Ontario’s public education system,” says Tucker. “A great deal of uncertainty and tension exists at the moment and many Ontarians are anxious about what will take place in the coming days and weeks.”
Tucker can provide expert commentary and analysis on work-to-rule campaigns, union/school board relations and changes to public school curriculum, as well as the impact these issues and events can have on students, teachers and the province as a whole.
Commentary reflects the perspective and scholarly interest of Western faculty members and is not an articulation of official university policy on issues being addressed.
