Recently, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature added the migratory monarch butterflies to its Red List of Threatened Species. Western University has the following experts who can comment on the decline of monarch butterflies:

Jeremy McNeil

Professor, Department of Biology

Areas of Expertise: Behavioural and chemical ecology of insects; the change in reproductive strategies of migratory monarch butterfly due to habitat loss.

Keith Hobson

Professor, Department of Biology

Areas of Expertise: Biological conservation and isotope ecology; climate change and loss of nectar corridors’ impact on monarch butterflies.
