Western University experts available to discuss final data release from 2021 Census

On Nov. 30, Statistics Canada will release the final data report from the 2021 Census. Wednesday’s release will focus on education in Canada, the changing labour force, and instruction in French. The following experts are available to discuss the findings:

Michael Haan

Associate Professor, Department of Sociology; Director, Centre for Research on Migration and Ethnic Relations

Areas of Expertise: Demographics, education, labour force, research on immigrant and refugee settlement.

Romel Mostafa

Assistant Professor, Ivey School of Business

Areas of Expertise: Canadian labour force, industrial evolution and policy, behavioural decision-making, strategy and capability development in new firms.

Mahmood Nanji

Lawrence Centre Policy Fellow and Assistant Professor, Ivey School of Business;

Areas of Expertise: Changing dynamics of the Canadian labour force, finance and policy, tax administration; 10 years of finance experience in government.

Howard Ramos

Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology

Areas of Expertise: Social change, social justice and equity, immigration, political sociology.

Prachi Srivastava

Associate Professor, Faculty of Education

Areas of Expertise: Education in Canada, education and global development, education policy and planning and equity.
