Matthew Lebo, the chair of Western University’s department of political science, is available to comment on U.S. President Election Day.
Lebo says:
“If the polls are right – or close to right – Joe Biden is in great position to win the U.S. election. But several key states like Pennsylvania remain close with Donald Trump already claiming that fraud will cost him the election.
“A quick end to the election is possible if Biden can win a key state or two that Trump won in 2016. In particular, North Carolina and Florida wins for Biden would be enough to put him over the top even as legal battles happen elsewhere.”
Lebo, who previously served as Chair of the Department of Political Science and Director of the Center for Behavioral Political Economy at Stony Brook University (New York), is an expert on the presidency, political parties, elections and Congress.
His book on the state of party politics in the United States, Strategic Party Government: Why Winning Trumps Ideology, written with Greg Koger, was published in 2017.
